I am running Windows 7 and purchased two of the Bluno Mega 1280s both are having the exact same problem.

The Bluno shows up in windows as "! Unknown device"
When I try to install the "Special Driver" through
Going to Device Manager
Right clicking "!Unknown Device"
Clicking on "Update Device Driver"
Selecting "Browse my computer for driver"
Navigating to my "Bluno mega 1280 special driver" folder (Where the Arduino MEGA 1280 R3.inf is located)
then press "Ok"
then press "Next"

I get the error
"Windows was unable to install your
Windows could not find driver software for your device."

I can however run AT+ commands on the Bluno Mega
I have restored it to default. None of the link lights are on, only the bright Red light.

I have attempted to manually install the drivers in "Legacy Mode". When I install them this way the device is then listed in Device Manager correctly.

When I go into the Arduino IDE 1.6.5 and under tools select"
Board: "Arduino Mega or Mega 2560"
Processor: "ATMega1280"
Port:COM8 "Arduino (Uno)" <---This does not change

and try to upload a sketch, I get these errors

Sketch uses 2,704 bytes (2%) of program storage space. Maximum is 126,976 bytes.
Global variables use 200 bytes (2%) of dynamic memory, leaving 7,992 bytes for local variables. Maximum is 8,192 bytes.

I assume the driver isnt working correctly when I manually install them.
Are any new windows drivers available for the bluno?
Can anyone help me with this problem?

Yep and I returned it.
I actually repurchased The Bluno 1280 and Bluno Mega 2560 from this site this time in hope that the hardware would be better.
I dont know what the heck... I cant install the Bluno 1280. My error is now different and it notices what the device is unlike before, but I get and error when I install the special drivers that says
"Windows found the driver software for your device but encountered an error while attempting to install it.
Arduino Mega 1280 R3
The system cannot find the file specified."

I also tried the Mega 2560 but I cant find usb drivers for it at all.
Both show up in windows as DFRobot Bluno.
Looks like there are no instructionsa at all for the Mega 2560.... omg I should have looked before I dropped 50 bucks again....

Hello,

I saw you mentioned MEGA2560, then I want to confirm one thing that you mean Bluno Mega2560 but not Mega2560, right? They are different!

This is quoted from the previous email I sent to Roboshop guys, I don't know if this info would help:
I pluged a Bluno Mega1280 from our storage on my pc(Win 10), it's recognized automatically as a USB serial device COM33 but not Mega 1280 as I expected, however, after I choosing the right boad type(Mega1280) and port, and click to upload sketch, it's successful suprisingly!

So as a conclusion, if the board is ok, then>

1 Win7 - Install the official driver for Bluno Mage 1280
2 Win8 - Disable digital signatures(From Sparkfun) > Install the official driver for Bluno Mage 1280
3 Win10 - Perfect on Win10, use it freely

Mac and Linux are all ok.

then what's you pc?

As I stated I am using Windows 7 but I will test on a windows 10 PC but I do not use this box to work on regularly. The thing is My device always has an exclamation mark (!) and does not function in the Arduino IDE. I get the error stated above when I try to update or install any driver for the device. Is it a way to find the file windows is looking for and says it can not find... I have been googling and can find no resolution. My other usb devices work fine. That is what is tricky to me.
It seems like half of the drivers are stuck in Windows somewhere and now Device manager is basically confused. I have tried resetting the FileRepository, and a few other tricks. Any other ideas or information you guys need from me
to help me out?

Yes in Windows 10 It recognizes it as a USB Serial Device.
When I try the Special driver I get an error that the INF does not contain signature information.

It does work though so I guess for me upgrading to Windows 10 resolved the problem.

I have the same error I had on my last Bluno Mega chips on my NEW Bluno 2560!
I was doing GREAT coding and playing with my Bluno all night last night. I fire it up tonight and I cant upload to it!

When I try I get this no matter what sketch I try to send!

"vrdude: stk500v2_ReceiveMessage(): timeout
avrdude: verification error, first mismatch at byte 0x006b
0xe2 != 0x00
avrdude: verification error; content mismatch"

Just for kicks I try the ATMega 1280 Processor and I get this:

avrdude: stk500_recv(): programmer is not responding
avrdude: stk500_getsync() attempt 1 of 10: not in sync: resp=0x60
avrdude: stk500_recv(): programmer is not responding

Problem uploading to board. See http://www.arduino.cc/en/Guide/Troubleshooting#upload for suggestions.

At least the driver is displaying as
"USB Serial Device"

I dont know what could have happened...

Help!
