DFplayer doesn't turn on

I just got a DFplayer module in the mail, tried setting it up with very basic wiring*, and it's not turning on. The onboard LED isn't even coming on; I tested the LED itself with a multimeter and it's functional, but the whole module is non-responsive. I made this short video to document my wiring and troubleshooting (https://youtu.be/LBzPZLliw7w), please turn on the CCs and read the description for more info.

If you have any suggestions on how to get it working, that would be greatly appreciated!! Thank you :)

*(3.3/5v to VCC, Gnd to GND, then drawing the IO pins down to ground to trigger them)

Hi, I have exactly the same problem as @pansee_pansee described in the video (https://youtu.be/LBzPZLliw7w).

I bought 2 DFplayer modules and none of them are working :o

Any help would be appreciate ;)
Hi, I manage to fix my problem by change the Micro SD Card. It not work with the 32 GB speed class UHS 1.

I change the SD card to Class 10 - 16 GB (might also work with 32GB) and it work fine.

Hi, it may caused by problems as below:
1. Your press is too long, it should be less than 200ms.
2. Your SD card file system is not supported, the module supports FAT16, FAT32 file system
3. In the worst case, the module is damaged
You can refer to the video which is driven by IO mode: https://youtu.be/9bYutA8jbnM
This solved my problem. Thanks.

2020-07-14 21:22:39 Thank you for the reply! I've set up the basic standalone circuit, and the module is non-responsive. The LED doesn't turn on and there's no reaction. Any ideas on what the problem might be? Could the module itself be broken?
Thanks again! :)
