How to turn ON/OFF LP from the arduino MCU

I want my LP auto turn ON when i at home and OFF when I leave. I thought the arduino MCU + sensor can help me on this case, they have internal serial connected and the board was designed to let the arduino MCU run even the LP is OFF. but I don't know how to turn on or wake up LP from the arduino MCU. Anyone can help me?
