DFR0768 DAC output

I am trying to find information as to what the outputs do.

I want to use the DFR0768 to play audio to an external amplifier. 

I found limited information about how to turn the internal amplifier on and off. Does this completely disable audio, or change it to line level? Is the DAC output meant to be the line level output?

If anyone has any answers to these questions it would be greatly appreciated.
