DFRobot UPS HAT (dfr0494) - need some help
Just got a Raspberry Pi 4B to serve as a personal server at home.
As such I want clean shutdowns in case the electricity goes out or whatnot.
Thus got a DFRobot UPS HAT (dfr0494).
Couple questions:
- Can I plug the hat into the pi as is (or do I need to get a different power supply)?- What kind of battery do I need for this thing?
I used to do electronics when I was like 10 lol, forgot how to do all this stuff.
Anyways, any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks :)
Hi
According to Wiki, the DFRobot Raspberry Pi UPS HAT should be powered by 3.7V Lithium Battery to make it work, see here.
Yes, the battery you choose will work.
Hope it can help.
Tonny12138Thanks a lot, just want to make sure I don’t burn down the house lol:D
So I got a power supply (https://www.amazon.com/Raspberry-Supply-SoulBay-Adapter-Android/dp/B07CVH21NC) and battery (https://www.amazon.com/Battery-Packs-Lithium-Polymer-1200mAh/dp/B00J2QET64) and hooked everything up and fired it up and it’s draining the battery while charging! :(
any idea what went wrong?
The UPS HAT charges the battery through this USB interface. You can see this process from the onboard power indicator.
Ok got one of these:

and one of these:
https://www.amazon.com/Raspberry-Supply-SoulBay-Adapter-Android/dp/B07CVH21NC
coming in the mail from Amazon prime
will they work? Everything is as specified…

Ok how about this as a power supply:

And this as a battery:
https://ydlbattery.com/products/1500mah-803450-rechargeable-lipo-battery
(of course with a usb-a to micro usb cable for the supply)?
Brent.BevansActually this one as the power supply:
https://www.amazon.com/Raspberry-Supply-SoulBay-Adapter-Android/dp/B07CVH21NC
Can I use this as the power supply?

also having a hard time finding a battery, anyone have any ideas?

I think you'll get your answer in the wiki page: https://wiki.dfrobot.com/Raspberry_Pi_UPS_HAT_SKU_DFR0494
It says “Please use 3.7V Lithium Battery that meets standard specification.”
