DFPlayer Pro - A mini MP3 Player power up circuit issue

Hi,

I am trying to build a circuit to power up the DFPlayer Pro - A mini MP3 Player with 5V. My calculations show that to use 12V adapter I would need a 330 ohm resistor.

I am however getting an alarm/siren sound when I connect up the power supply.

Can anyone please let me know what I am doing wrong?
