SEN0492 return wrong distance value when I placed it in PVC pipe

I am testing the SEN0492 sensor. I placed it in a PVC pipe and set the distance from the sensor to the water surface at 4.5 cm. However, the returned values are inaccurate. Could you help us resolve this issue?
