Mosfet DFR0457, what happens if signal is high (power on) and external power source fails, 2 A load

I want to use the MOSFET DFR0457 for a load that operates at 12V with 2A. The 12V is supported by a 12V battery

My question is what happens if the signal is high and the external fails. Will the MOSFET try to drain the 2A from the Arduino or not?
Reason: If the MOSFET tries to drain 2A from Arduino the Arduino will be damaged severely.
