The scanner can detect an object opaque black or black wall?
Hi. I would like to place one in a room to collect location data for the room use. Do I need more than one device for triangulation? What kind hardware do I need for storing and processing the data - ie in what range of gigabytes are we talking about? Also, if I mounted it to the ceiling, would it be able to collect movement of people on the ground?
JaneYu Hi, this is 2D planar scanning, it means it only could detect the object which is in the same plane. If you mounted it on the ceiling, it won't detect the people on the ground, only the lamps on the ceiling too.
What is about this platform? http://www.dfrobot.com/inde... Or this HCR http://www.dfrobot.com/inde...
JaneYu I'm interested in this for UAV applications, does anyone know the actual weight of the sensor? The only source i could find says 390g but this was quoted in the shipping section, so probably refers to total shipping weight.
Disregard i found it - 170 grams
JaneYu We are looking at using this for 3D scanning- is there a way to determine which direction a scan is coming from relative to the sensor? For example-for each rotation and pulse, does the pulse come back with the angle the pulse was sent at and the distance? We need to tie it to a direction with the data for rotation in the Z axis to keep orientation correct to fixed points (e.g. North, or coordinates).
Also-
Is there a way to improve the distance with stronger scanner/receivers?
Thanks-
Ron
JaneYu I realize that it scans every degree, but is the "0" degree consistent for the restart pulse, or does the simple belt slip, or is there another registration method for "0"?
You can read the data using Serial monitor software .By using command recoded in SDK the lidar will output raw data
