you can use 2 displays at the same time, so using the integrated touchscreen and the HDMI is fine. with windows 10, I even got the integrated display and a wireless one working at the same time.

I think he wants a 5" display that plugs into the internal connector, not one that uses HDMI. He wants the HDMI cable to be open for connecting external monitors. I'm in the same boat, I want a 5" screen for this as well so I can make a small SteamOS portable.

I wanted to Make the latte panda portable enough to fit in your pocket but with the 7 inch screen you can't and having a hdmi cable to connect the screen not only keeps me from plunging it into another monitor but it also uses up a lot of room

Is there a brightness rating for this monitor and what is the longest cable that can be used with it? Is there a 12 inch cable available? Thanks.

Does the black side of the connector go up or down when plugging it into the Lattepanda? Also, I've found that it disconnects easily; is it supposed to, or am I connecting it wrong?

The cable appears to be very short. Is there a way to get a longer cable?

Is the lattepanda compatible with any other diaplay out there? From what i read it uses a mipi 30 pin connector and i cant find any other display that uses that. Is it proprietary? Will other diaplay sizez be available? I already backed the enhanced version.

LattePanda has FPC connector to interface with this 7 inch screen. It's something useable on other devices.
And LattePanda has HDMI what makes it more widely applicable
