I just bought the Cheapduino, also writing a review-project here in Let's Make Robots: http://robotshop.com/letsma....
I think it's a great product but it needs some improvements or possibilities, like a fast boot. I know it's possible because it's done already with other implementations of ATmega8 like here: http://forum.arduino.cc/ind...

I really need to cut as much as possible the boot time of the Cheapduino to save energy (the boot process takes much more time than my application time so it's a waste of energy from the little battery), otherwise I will be forced to change to another board.

Please can you explain how to load the Optiboot (https://forum.arduino.cc/in... with the Cheapduino? Thanks!
