Does this require protected button-top batteries?

do you know if the unused pins are connected to anything on the ups board? even ground? or are they structurally connected to the board with no actual completed circuit? the reason I ask is i imagine a possibility of using a riser pin on the speaker pins of the delta... de-soldering the accompanying pins on the ups board.. and actually pass through the ups board at that location to have a "second set" of gpio pins on top of the ups board

The speaker above the UPS is not connected to any pins.
But the GND on top of the UPS are connected.

Sorry, but since this product is not open source at this time, we are limited in the information we can provide you on the internal circuitry.

Can pins be removed from the hat? I understand using all of the available pins for support / structural purposes... but if i wanted to use the speaker pins on the delta... certainly the ups hat isn't using the speaker pins for itself... could these pins be de-soldered and removed from the ups hat so that speaker functionality could still be utilized?

Is there any way to connect this UPS Hat with extension cables of some kind, so that the two units could sit side by side; rather than being stacked on top of one another? We are trying to fit this computer, and the UPS hat, in a custom slim case design that's only about an inch tall (2.5cm).

Since the UPS is 3.5cm thick with the bottom row of pins on it, the UPS doesn't tuck into your customized case.
In this case, we believe there are two ways to get UPS functionality to your equipment.
1. You can purchase a standard UPS with an AC connector and place it on the outside of your case.
2. You can cut the row of pins on the bottom of our UPS HAT and solder some Dupont wire on top. Simply connect the 12V DC to the LattePanda using DuPont wire.
But this will cause your UPS HAT to lose its warranty. Also, the UPS HAT is still 1.6cm thick even after cutting the row of pins, so if you add some of the length of the 18650 battery, we think the space left for the UPS HAT will be very tight.

Good day! What are the dimensions of the LP3D with the UPS hat on it?

Since the LattePanda Alpha and LattePanda Delta have the same connector size on both sides of the motherboard, this UPS HAT can be adapted to the LP3D.
