Is the SEN0610 suitable for use as a pet immune sensor?

I would like to use this sensor in place of a PIR device.

PIR sensors detect movement of warm bodies (IR radiation changes).

They can be purchased in pet-immune versions (using lensing + logic to ignore objects under a certain height/IR signature).

SEN0610 mmWave radar detects micro-motions (breathing, slight movements), so it can reliably detect stationary humans.

It does not have pet immunity built in. If your dog or cat moves or breathes within the detection zone, the module will sense them just as it would a human.

The SEN0610 will detect any living being in its field, regardless of size, unless you implement filtering in software.

Small pets may still be detected (breathing, tail movement, walking).

You could try to filter detections based on signal strength / radar cross section, but that’s not natively implemented — you’d need to experiment.
