Compatibility of Gravity: IO Shield for FireBeetle 2 DFR0762
Farm Urban 2025-09-06 17:06:11 833 Views6 Replies I've been using the IO Expansion Shield for FireBeetle 2 DFR0762 with the FireBeetle 2 ESP32-E IoT Microcontroller and am very happy with it.
I'd now like to try using Zigbee as the communication mechanism, so would like to try using the ESP32 C5 or ESP32 C6. The product wiki for the DFR0762 mentions it's compatible with the Firebeetle 2 series, but only specifically mentions the M0 and ESP32-E.
Can someone confirm that it will also be compatible with the C5 and C6 too?
Hi, there!
The DFR0762 is not compatible with FireBeetle 2 ESP32-C5 and ESP32-C6.
However, there is a dedicated expansion shield kit for the C5, with SKU: DFR1236.
Yx I have a Firebeetle ESP32-E V1.0 and a Gravity IO Shield labeled Firebeetle Expansion Shield (V1.0). After uploading the program, the EXP32-E will not reboot and run. It stays in upload mode. If I remove the Gravity IO Shield the ESP32 will reset and boot into run mode.
The Shield itself is interfering with GPIO0, GPIO2 or GPIO15
Is there a map of the wiring of the Gravity IO Shield or a suggestion as to how to eliminate this interference? There must be a pull up or down on these GPIO.
John.Reardon Hi,
1. We have tested DFR0762 and DFR0654 many times and did not encounter the issue of being stuck in upload mode after programming. If the expansion shield is causing interference, you can try cutting the GPIO0 pin header to see if the problem is resolved.
2. The schematic diagram of DFR0762 is available on the wiki. Link: https://wiki.dfrobot.com/dfr0762
I have the same question, so in does the IO Expansion Shield for FireBeetle 2 DFR0762 also work with the https://wiki.dfrobot.com/SKU_DFR1075_FireBeetle_2_Board_ESP32_C6 ?
It reads like yes but mentioned is only M0 and ESP32-E
tnx tk
tk Hello @ahsrab.rifat. Thanks for your reply.
That's what I'm asking; I know that ESP32-C5 and ESP32-C6 support Zigbee protocols, I'd like to know if the DFR0762 IO Expansion Shield is compatible with these boards?
Farm Urban For Zigbee communication, both the ESP32-C5 and ESP32-C6 support Zigbee protocols. However, you may need to use alternative expansion boards or modules that are compatible with these chips to facilitate Zigbee communication.
