voice recognition modules DF2301QG v1.1

hello i have just bought one of the voice recognition modules

on powering up it says something in chinese? No idea what and the red light stays on BUT no blue led

It does not accept any voice commands including the wake up command of “'hello robot'” and even after waiting for a long time -no blue led

any ideas please?
