Computers can't see DFPlayer PRO V1.0

When connecting it to a computer through a usb-c cable I see the blue LED and the “MUSIC” sound is repeated through the speakers I have attached. The problem is that there is no drive discovered through the computer so I am unable to add my own sound files. I've tried both a desktop and laptop running Windows 11.
I've googled around for DFPlayer drivers but haven't found anything. Is there a fix for this?
first of all, try anther usb cable. Some cable just do the power with no data. If the cable is fine, try another usb port or computer, if neither of them work, you'd better contact dfrobot for replacment.

I've got so many usb-c cables lying around from various chinese electronics I must have grabbed one of those cables instead.
