Digital Laser Proximity Sensor SEN0531 Load Current very low
J.T. 2025-11-11 19:00:06 13 Views0 Replies I was wondering if anyone else had the same problem.
I bought 3 SEN0531 Digital Laser Proximity Sensors and each one has the same problem.
The maximum current I can pull from the signal pin is only about 1mA even though the specs say 300mA.
For example: with voltage applied (5V or 12V tested) between Brown (VCC) and blue (GND), with a 1kOhm resistor between yellow (out) and Blue (GND) I measure 1.1V or 1.1mA. With a 4.7K resistor I measure 3.9V over the resistor. Measured with the sensor tripped/ obstacle detected, Voltage is 0V if the sensor sees no object.
I would would be satisfied with at least 10mA but 1mA is quite low. (Yes I know that for a microcontroller Input 1mA is more than enough)
Any help would be much appreciated.
