Issue Calibrating OV2640 Camera — Low-Light Objects Not Being Detected

I’m running into a problem with an OV2640 camera module in my project. The camera works fine in normal lighting, but when the environment gets dim, it struggles to detect objects even at close range (around 1–2 meters). The image becomes very dark and noisy, making object detection unreliable.
I’ve already tried adjusting the ambient lighting and changing the lens focus, but that didn’t solve the issue. I checked the basic camera settings, but I’m not sure if there’s a way to manually tweak parameters like exposure time, analog gain, or ISO through firmware or software configuration.
Has anyone here worked with the OV2640 in low-light conditions? Are there specific registers, libraries, or tools that allow better control over sensitivity and exposure?
Any advice or shared experience would be really helpful.
Thanks in advance!
