Powering the Beetle CM-32U4

For a battery powered night light I'd like to use the Beetle CM-32U4. But I'm unsure about the powering options. One reason for my uncertainty is, that in the schematics the MP2636 chip is wired for handling the battery. When I download all the files (on the bottom of this page https://wiki.dfrobot.com/Beetle_CM_32U4_SKU_DFR0816) there is a datasheet attached for the battery charger TP4056. It is also mentioned on the wiki site of the CM-32U4. I guess there is only one of those two built in to the board.

My question is: Is the microcontroller always operating with 5V, even when the only power source is a 3.7V battery? So is there still 5V on the 5V-Pin of the board, when it is powered by a 1s lithium-ion battery?
