RS485 PAR Sensor Stops Responding
Henry.Kang 2026-05-08 10:13:48 427 Views1 Replies Our recent modifications to the RS485 Photosynthetically Active Radiation (PAR) Sensor (400-700nm) resulted in an unfortunate mistake. Rather than changing register 2000, we accidentally changed 2001, which appears to be connected to the baud rate. The original value of 1 was changed to 7.
After then, as anticipated, communication broke down, and despite several attempts, nothing worked.
Has anyone thought of a way to get the gadget back? Another alternative or hidden way to reset the factory?
Hi, sensors of this type usually come with a fault-tolerance mechanism for invalid baud rate values, and there is a certain probability that it will automatically revert to a standard baud rate.
You can test the baud rates in this order: 2400, 4800, 9600, 19200, 38400. Try connecting the sensor and reading registers at each baud rate. If communication is restored, set register 2001 back to the default value of 1.
