Bad M1 motor driver Romeo V2 (I think)
Eric Gamble 2026-06-02 05:48:30 25 Views1 Replies Romeo V2 dead on M1, checked, double checked wiring and swap tested motors, all indications point to a bad channel on the right motor (M1). No burn marks, no magic smoke, just not working. Anyone have suggestions? brand new out of box, M2 side works fine for both motors when switched. Really frustrating! I know it is a bit of a sophmoric endeavor but it is on a Devestator tank kit. I am not above testing and replacing maybe an inline fuse or a bad solder?? Nothing obvious though, but it should have worked ootb. Much appreciation.
That motor swap test is useful, but I’d first rule out code/mode before reworking the board. Please test the Romeo V2 by itself, outside the tank wiring, using the current wiki motor example: https://wiki.dfrobot.com/dfr0225/
The wiki example code has been corrected, so if you copied an earlier PLL sketch, please re-copy the current version and upload it again. Also make sure the motor jumper matches the sketch mode: PWM or PLL.
If M2 can run both motors but M1 still has no output with the current example and correct jumper setting, then it likely points to a bad M1 driver/output channel or solder issue. Since it is new out of the box, replacement/RMA would be the better first step.
