Olympics inspired project with the DFRobot Ethernet shield

I created a little contraption to track the progress of the Dutch Olympic team with DFRobot's Ethernet Shield, Screw Shield and Servo.
Of course your phone's news app will alert you when your country has won a medal in the Olympics, but it's more fun with an Arduino.

I fixed the little bug with the leds in time for a couple more medals (it alerted me even a couple of times of medals I wasn't expecting)
The Netherlands got 20 medals in total (a lot less then China of course, but pretty good for such a small country)
Now, see if I can use it for something else (for example, Facebook-, Email or Twitter-alerts), any suggestions?

sure be all right with facebook and twitter. There is a twitter library available in arduino.cc. let us know if you made it. Also congratulates on the Netherlands' performance. 20 is really a good number considering the populations, and the average medal number per million is not that good for china. Anyway, it is a game, it fun and everyone enjoyed it.

2012-08-08 18:44:36 You might try to glue some paper on the LED hole, to diffuse the intensity of the LEDs.
It might give it a cool effect. You can use regular printer paper, or even better something thinner like rice paper or "papel de china" sorry don't know the english name for this paper, you can just google the term and get a picture of what it is.
