PLL vs. PWM Motor Control with Romeo

Hey
I am wondering if anyone has had better success with PLL over PWM to improve control. The results I have gathered shows a linear relationship in the PLL mode and the PWM results in a log relationship on different inputs. when changing the frequency of the PWM this allows for a slightly better operation range that is linear.
Does anyone have a preference or input on these two options. I am using it with 2WD chassis and metal gear motors 150:1 ratio dfrobot.
Thanks
