DFPlayer controlled by Arduino - Noise Problem

I have been able to compile and upload (from Arduino Uno) the sample DFPlayer software (new library) but have a loud buzzing noise which begins a few seconds into playing the first track and then continues through all other track playing. I have used the USB serial cable and/or a 9 volt battery but no difference in noise problem.
Incidentally, I don't get the noise problem when running the DFPlayer from the simple push button controls.
Any thoughts?

Yeah? it is better to add a resister between RX and TX.
Thank you for your reminder. The connection diagram has been updated. Please check the DFplayer wiki page.

2014-06-15 07:48:20 Found a solution to my "noise" problem. Insert a 1K resistor between the Arduino-UNO transmit pin and the DFPlayer Receive pin. This should probably be shown in the "Connection Diagram" in the DFPlayer manual.
