The 80mm Mecanum Wheel Set enables omnidirectional mobility for robotics platforms that require flexible and precise movement. Unlike traditional wheels, this omnidirectional drive wheel system allows a robot to move forward, sideways, diagonally, or rotate in place without changing orientation. Each wheel integrates multiple angled rollers that convert rotational motion into multidirectional traction, making the assembly ideal for advanced robotics navigation and motion experiments. With a compact 80mm diameter and durable construction, this robotics mobility component supports stable movement, smooth transitions, and agile maneuvering for research platforms, educational robots, and intelligent mobile vehicles.
Note: The kits include two pairs of Mecanum wheels (80mm): two left-handed wheels and two right-handed wheels. Please pay attention to the L and R noted on the back of the product when installing.
Omnidirectional Movement Capability
This mecanum drive wheel system enables full omnidirectional motion through angled roller geometry. Each wheel integrates nine rollers positioned at a 45° angle, allowing motion vectors from multiple directions to combine into precise lateral, diagonal, and rotational movement. Such mechanical design eliminates the need for steering mechanisms, making the wheel set highly suitable for robotics platforms requiring agile navigation, indoor maneuverability, and complex movement patterns such as S‑curves, lateral slides, or zero‑radius rotation.
Stable and Low‑Noise Operation
The omnidirectional robotics wheel uses plastic structural components combined with high‑friction silicone rubber rollers to ensure reliable traction and reduced operational noise. Durable roller construction absorbs vibration and improves ground contact consistency, producing smooth movement even during rapid directional changes. Impact‑resistant materials increase longevity in robotics experimentation environments while maintaining stable motion control for research robots, competition vehicles, and automated guided platforms.
Durable Roller Structure for Robotics Platforms
Each 80mm wheel integrates nine reinforced rollers designed to withstand repeated movement and mechanical stress. Plastic wheel hubs provide structural strength while silicone rubber coatings increase grip and impact resistance. The 7×7×7mm hex mounting interface supports secure installation on compatible motor shafts commonly used in robotics chassis systems. Such design ensures dependable performance for autonomous vehicles, mobile robotics experiments, and engineering prototypes.
