Introduction

FireBeetle 2 ESP32-E is an IoT development board based on the ESP32-WROOM-32E module. It combines a dual-core processor with 2.4GHz Wi-Fi, Bluetooth Classic and Bluetooth LE for connected sensor, control and display projects.

An onboard charging circuit and PH2.0 lithium battery connector support battery-powered prototypes. The GDI interface provides a connection for compatible DFRobot displays, while the castellated edge pads support integration into a custom PCB.

Arduino tutorials cover GPIO, serial communication, I2C, SPI, displays, wireless connectivity and deep sleep. MicroPython firmware selection and installation are covered in a separate guide.

Programming Options:

  • Arduino: Arduino setup instructions and board examples are available.
  • MicroPython:  It is listed in the firmware support guide. Follow the guide to select and flash the appropriate firmware.

  • Compatibility Note: FireBeetle 2 ESP32-E is not pin- or mechanically compatible with the original FireBeetle series, and their expansion boards are not interchangeable. Check the pinout, board dimensions and peripheral requirements before replacing a board in an existing design.

Love these mCU's. The best part is the GDI interface for the displays they offer. Also the price is really good when you compare it to other companies like sparkfun. The GDI is great for prototyping so you dont have to run wires or solder anything.

Excellent IoT board for both beginners and professionals. The FireBeetle 2 ESP32-E is compact, stable, and very power-efficient. The 32 MB flash and 512 KB RAM make it ideal for complex IoT or AIoT projects. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity work flawlessly, and it integrates perfectly with Arduino IDE or PlatformIO. I used it in a smart sensor project with multiple peripherals, and it performed very reliably. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a solid ESP32 development board
