Introduction

The Smart Home Kit is a scenario-based learning kit tailored for middle school Computer Science (CS) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) education. Designed to work seamlessly with the UNIHIKER K10 (sold separately) and the Mind+ programming platform, the kit integrates building blocks, real-world sensors, and actuators to bring practical home automation concepts to life.

Through 12 engaging projects across five core household scenarios—Home Butler, Smart Lighting, Smart Windows, Healthcare, and Home Security—students build functional physical models, connect electronic hardware, design input-decision-output algorithms, and test automated responses. The curriculum is crafted to develop students' computational thinking and help them understand how sensing, rule-based logic, and intelligent controls create safer, more comfortable, and energy-efficient living environments.
