IR positioning camera sen0158

I am wondering if anyone knows, are the camera's in these sensors scavenged from Wii remotes? or have they been sourced?

I have a few spare Wii remotes lying around that I am going to be pulling apart anyway, I am just curious about these positioning cameras.
