DFPlayer in Stand-Alone Mode

I'm wondering what are the actions of the DFPlayer when it's used "stand-alone". ie, no buttons, no serial connections,no arduino, just power supply and speakers.
When you apply power does the player start playing the first track?
If so, when it reaches the end of the first track does it repeat track 1 or go on to track 2?
If it goes on to track 2 can that behavior be modified in "stand-alone" mode?
