When a charger is plugged in to this unit, the output switches on. The output is only supposed to turn on when the pushbutton is pressed.

The unit also turns on and off repeatedly during this.

In normal operation everything is fine. I push the button to turn the unit on and my device is powered for as long as I want until I press the button for 3 seconds to turn it off.

Is my unit faulty? This is certainly unacceptable operation. When a charger is plugged in, the unit should not turn on.

The problem is it will never charge, because the circuit is pulling current.

It is normal to have output during charging, and it is abnormal to turn on and off repeatedly.
