DFRobot Raspberry Pi UPS HAT, power question

I have a pi4 with a PICAN-M - NMEA 0183 & NMEA 2000 HAT, where the power is coming from the CAN bus,
So here is the question , If i wanted to add the UPS HAT, would it be able to charge the battery without the external power supply ?

The Raspberry Pi UPS HAT charges the battery through the USB port on the shield. It cannot charge the battery via GPIO.
