HI, the platform provides a 5 AA battery holder, you could check the PD photo. And the recommended input voltage is 7~12V, you could replace the AA batteries with a rechargeable lipo battery. Also, you could take a look its kit http://www.dfrobot.com/inde... It contains sensors and a Bluetooth microcontroller. Your phone will be a good gamepad

Hi Sorry for the confused, The motors could stand 12V power supply, but I am not very suggest you to do it. It is too high for the motor.
