Whether there is an encoder for this Tank Mobile Robot Platform ?

I would like to use the PS2 controller for this robotic platform, can you advise which control board I should use! and the motors on this platform are they veriable or one single speed?

Is it possible to buy the D2 piece separately? I've upgraded my machine with motors that have a 4mm drive shaft and need a pair of that piece. It looks like it has been several years since the upgrade kit was mentioned and I don't see one on the site.

On carpet or other rough surfaces, they do very well. On any hard surface, they struggle to gain traction. You can see this in the official trailer video above when it tries to climb over the blocks.

It’s the biggest downside to an impressive kit for the price.

I’ve been trying to think of a way to add some grip (such as a rubberized coating), but the small size of the links makes this difficult.

@dfrobot:disqus — do you know what kind of plastic the links are made out of? This could help me choose a suitable glue or bonding material to add to the tracks.

Does the 3kg payload include the weight of the device 1.3kg? Is the payload really 1.7kg?

Is there a part number for the metal dc gear motors. I have the yellow gear box motors and would like to upgrade.

Does the robot require an H-Bridge or Motor shield to operate the motors?

Depends on the smoothness of the surface, our test is comparatively good on hard surface.

Just started building this devastator tank platform, part a4-2, we got qty 2...part a4-1 we got qty 0. It won’t work. Does anyone have a 3d printable version of this a4-1? If not, we need a new part shipped to us.

are the shaft adapters for the drive motors available separately? I have the old kit which had 6 mm shaft motors, and I have the new motors, but they are 4 mm shaft.

Can this be made autonomous with mapping ability to remember its path and obstacles? I don't want a remote controlled toy. I want to be able to remotely control it if I need to but I prefer it works on its own and sends me data from a Raspberry Pi. I need it for research collecting data on relative humidity and electro shock discharge (static). Can anyone suggest this would be good for that? Have a better selection? Tell me.

What else is required for this kit to function? Arduino? RaspberryPi? Something else?

I purchased the original version of this kit with the non-metal geared motors. Do you have the metal geared motors for sale separately?

I used this motor with encoders on my tank platform

They are an exact replacement for the plastic motors on the old platform, so will not be as strong as the metal motors supplied with this platform.
