Hi
3.7V lithium battery is recommended to power this hat, any lithum battery that fit this standard will work.
I would have recommended our 3.7v lithium battery, but unfortunately it has been discontinued.

Hello,

I just noticed that you recently made an upgraded firmware version that resolves the issue I am having. How do I go about updating the firmware on the ups hats that I already have?

What are the issues you have?
Also how do you determine the version?
Is it simply like this?

ver=bus.read_byte_data(addr,0x02)
print (ver)

which on the one i just bought returns "19" which is 0x13 i believe ( not a programmer! ) - so i think i have the latest 1.3 firmware.

Hello,

I am using several of these for a project and I am having some difficulty. Does the UPS hat have an option for the pi to be automatically restarted when the batteries reach the minimum charge? My issue is that when the pi drains the battery the ups has to be manually turned back on in order for power to be supplied to the pi

HI the link to the Product Wiki seems to be not working - can you please fix

This is why I don't invest in these places and their products. They simply don't support their products that fail to operate outside limited load requirements that defeats the purpose of the boards. I want a UPS HAT that supports sufficient amps to power USB devices used for desktop applications, like hard drives.

Hi,
Under what circumstances will it reboot a lot?

userHeadPic JaneYu

When Pi's battery power exceeds 10%, pi will automatically open

userHeadPic JaneYu
JaneYu wrote:

I do not think that is clear or correct.

So if I call shutdown and the battery is at 90% the pi will turn on immediately?

Does the battery have to be supplied by mains power? Does it have to rise past 10% from less than 10%?

Does anyone know which pins are used on the raspberry pi for power from the DF Robot Pi UPS Hat? (e.g. which is positive and negative supply from DF Pi UPS to raspberry pi).

I setup my UPS HAT and followed the instructions here https://wiki.dfrobot.com/Ra...
When I run the command "sudo i2cdetect -y l", all I get is a screen full of "--". The instructions say if this happens to edit /etc/modprobe.d/raspi-blacklist.conf and comment out "blacklist i2c-bcm2835". But when I edit this file there is nothing in it. Can someone please offer some advice ?

Can you please answer on this page whether or not there is ANY WAY to programatically TURN ON the pi after it has been shutdown by software when using this product?

The problem with this is that there is no way to restart the Pi once you have issued a shutdown via the OS. In this case the hat is still powered, but the Pi is off. There is no button or wake-on-lan or any way to restart the Pi without pulling the hat off the Pi.

The answer to this lies with V1.1 of the device's firmware but DFR are providing no support for any form of upgrade or replacement. I suggest we all keep asking and pressuring for V1.1 as a firmware update we can carry out ourselves or for a return/credit for a replacement device.

Problem #3.....

If I send a reboot or shutdown command to the host OS on the RPi, the system cannot be restarted.

There seems to be no way to restart the host OS unless I pull the hat off the RPi and push it on again.

There most be someway to get the hat to send a startup signal to the RPi.

Hello support,

Last week i ordered one UPS and got it delivered yesterday.
The first thing i encountered, is that the battery connector is on the same position as the 4 pins on the RPi 3B+
This way i cannot fully connect the HAT on the Pi...
You must have noticed that too!

Second thing is, some components on the back side 'touch' the pins when i use a 'Phat Stack'
I added some photo's to support my findings...

Hey Robert,
Thanks for your feedback and your observations are noted. Unfortunately we did not test compatibility with the PHAT stack since it is a third party product. A simple fix for this would be to add some sort of insulator between the exposed pins and the components being touched, such as tape or another non conductive layer. As for the 4 power pins, we were still able to successfully use the board even though it was not fully seated due to the extruding pins. If you are having trouble with your setup and would like us to help you out in a better capacity, could you please email [email protected]

Hi,

According to the wiki, this HAT is not suitable for the RPi 3B+, but i at some resellers, they claim the RPi 3B+ is supported.

Can someone give me the correct answer?
Thanks in advance!

This is not the good answer. I have the same question :

Does the UPS hat automatically restore power to the RPi once power is restored and the battery is MORE THAN 10%?

Or do you need to manually press a button on the hat to restart the RPi?
