It seemed to work except that the wifi connection is intermittent. All other features are working except the inconsistent wifi.
Is there something wrong with the board ? I have tested with several micro-bits, same result. Is the IOT board faulty or is it bcos the CR 123A is a must ?

It's most likely your the board isn't getting enough power through USB for wifi. As far as we know, there have been multiple reports about WIFI issues due to not enough power. I suggest you try to find the recommended power supply for the board and see how it goes. If your issue is still not resolved, we will look in to your order and see what we can do about it.

JaneYu Thanks. I believe it is the power cos when I plug to the usb from a laptop, the wifi works. Its kind of difficult to find the CR123A lithium ion here.
