sucks that they don't have a datasheet available. Looks like the characters are built in and you cannot control each individual pixel.

There's a datasheet available for the STC 8F2K32S2. Looks like it takes in serial data and flips bits for the line drivers. Looks pretty straightforward to program. Good luck.

Did you look at the pinout? There's only 4 pins, +/- , serial in, serial out.
