TEL0149: any success with NanoBeaconConfigTool?

Good afternoon.

I'm trying to get my program my first BLE beacon and I'm having a lot of trouble with NanoBeaconConfigTool.

When I try to connect to the board it crashes to the desktop without any error message. Nothing in the log directory. The windows event log shows what appears to be a stack overflow in the Qt5.core dll. Searching on the web indicates it's most likely an error in the application. After various failures with other versions of the tool I'm inclined to believe it's the config tool.

Has anyone else had success configuring these devices?

What version of tool are you using?

Thanks,

Jay

I found if you open the device manager on windows, expand the “Ports” entry, and look for an entry like “Silicon Labs… USB to UART Bridge” it will show the correct port to connect to.

Some ports will timeout and others will just crash the application.
