Dfplayer pro

I have read all the post so far on saving the play mode on the dfplayer pro. None of them are working. AT+SAVE, AT+PLAYMODE=1Save or AT+PLAYMODE=1SAVE. Is then any other things to try. Or a resistor value I can put to ground and key to force PLAYMODE one. I am using the module as a stand alone player an do not wish to add a secondary controller like an Arduino.  Is there a master list of AT commands that is not in the documentation that might help. I love this module for the most part. It sounds great but it does have some quirky parts. Please and thank you
