GREAT IDEA great!!! So the internal stabiliser is not working for even a second on reverse polarity - congratulations DFR. Ok, my fault, it's DESCRIBED, but who on earth is making such an idiotic thing????

+1; I was very surprised by this too. Very un-intuitive IMO and worth fixing in future iterations.
FWIW, Despite paying attention to this, my sensor went up in smoke on 1st connection :(.
