Iota Battery Backup

Hi,

Has anyone tried the HID-UPS protocol on Ubuntu 24.04 on the IoTa board?      The wiki (https://wiki.dfrobot.com/SKU_DFR1247_UPS_Expansion_Board) in the Q/A sections says it is not supported because other OS's beside windows do not support HID-USB.    Ubuntu has been supporting usbhid-ups drivers via NUT for years.  Is there another reason?  (Possible not tested)

Q: Is Linux or macOS supported?
A: No. Only Windows 10/11 natively supports the HID-UPS protocol. Other OSes cannot detect battery status.

I am waiting on the boards to arrive to test, but curious if the community has any experience?
