SEN0463 Radiation detector not working on Huzzah Feather

The sample code for the SEN0463 radiation detector does not run properly on Huzzah Feather. It causes the blue WiFi led to flash and causes fast scrolling of the Feather specs on the Arduino IDE seril monitor. Commenting out the line: geiger.start() stops these actions, but then the detector doesn't work properly. Is there a fix for this or is it inherent in the Feather?
