SEN0657 inaccurate temperature reading

Hello,

I recently purchased a SEN0657 weather station.  The reported temperature readings are up to 9 degrees Celsius higher than actual when in sunlight even though the device has a radiation shield.

Do you have any advice?

Mount the sensor on a tall mast, at least 1.5–2 meters above the ground. Arrange free airflow around the shield. No walls, fences, or trees nearby.

Were you able to resolve your issue?  I think I am seeing the same thing.  Maybe modifying the heat shield would be appropriate here?  BTW RH% is a function of temperature so this value will also not be accurate if temperature is not correct.

Hi Brian,

Direct sunlight can heat the sensor even with a radiation shield, causing higher readings. Place it in a shaded, ventilated area away from heat-reflecting surfaces and consider applying a calibration offset to match actual temperature.
