5V Metal Proximity Switch: What is the detection area?

Could someone please confirm whether the detection zone is exactly the crosshair marked on the device? In other words, will the device detect a metal object positioned within 4 mm of that crosshair?

I assume that is what the marking in

I’m not completely sure about the exact detection point, but based on similar devices I’ve used, the detection zone is usually centered right around the crosshair marking. If that’s the case, a metal object placed within about 4 mm of that point should normally be detected, though it may still depend on the sensitivity settings and the material type.

Hi, the crosshair marked on the 5V Metal Proximity Switch is exactly the position of the induction coil. The switch will be triggered when a metal object is within 4 mm near this crosshair area.
