Gravity: 8x8 Matrix ToF 3D Distance Sensor

1. Does the lidar actually scan, as the DFRobot video shows?
2. Is the 60x60 degree field a result of the lidar scanning, or is the lidar FoV itself 60x60 deg.
3. What is the FoV of the individual sensors?
4. What angular separation is there between to adjacent matrix points?
Thanks,
John-
The SEN0628 uses one VL53L7CX 8×8 multizone ToF sensor.
1. It does not mechanically scan or steer a narrow beam point by point. It electronically produces repeated 8×8 depth frames; the sweep shown in the video is a visualization.
2. The sensor itself has a 60° horizontal × 60° vertical detection FoV, divided into 64 zones.
3. The matrix points are measurement zones, not 64 separate sensors. Their nominal FoV is approximately 7.5° × 7.5°.
4. The nominal center-to-center separation between adjacent zones is therefore about 7.5° horizontally and vertically.
The 7.5° value is an estimate from 60°/8, not a manufacturer-specified calibrated angle. Actual zone boundaries may vary slightly due to the optics and measurement conditions.
