Alternative Displays

Does anyone have any suggestion or experiences in using a different display (7in eDP fro DFrobot)? I would normally just use a different display from a different company but the IOTA board appears to use the eDP interface and there aren't many options available.

I do not want to have to develop an eDP dirver board to just get another off the shelf display working. 

There are realistically two issues with this display. (1) The display is not centered with the touch screen, and (2) the touch screen ribbon cable basically comes out at the same plane as the touch screen panel itself. So hiding the cable is difficult. The HDMI interface isn't really viable in this case as the HDMI connector is going to be removed to reduce the height of the overall board.
