Can no longer access my Lorawan Gateway
Matt.Barna 2026-06-28 03:03:35 412 Views5 Replies I have a DfRobot Lorawan Gateway. Initially I was able to access the gateway configuration using the 10.6.6.6 ip address. Then eventually I could not.
I performed a factory reset on the gateway by holding down the RST button for 10 seconds and let the unit reboot and I still cannot access the unit.
Is it bricked? Is there a way to reflash the firmware?
Thanks in advance.
I decided to return it to Amazon as defective for an exchange. Tired of trying to get it to work.
DFRobot please look into a recovery option for your customers. Offer the software and firmware on your site to recover.
Thanks,
Matt.Barna Thank you for your feedback, and we apologize for the inconvenience.
We have reported this issue to our product team. A firmware flashing tool and firmware package will be provided as a recovery option for the LoRaWAN Gateway. The relevant files and instructions will be published once they are ready.
Hi, this does not necessarily mean the gateway is bricked. When connected to a PC via USB, the gateway usually appears in Windows as an NDIS / USB RNDIS network device, not as a normal serial device. Please check Windows Device Manager for an unknown device, NDIS device, or network adapter, and try manually selecting the Microsoft USB RNDIS Adapter driver.
Please also check:
1. Use a USB cable that supports data transfer;
2. Try another USB port;
3. Wait about 1 minute after power-on and make sure the LoRa indicator is on before accessing https://10.6.6.6;
4. If AP mode is enabled, try connecting to the gateway hotspot and access10.8.8.8.
Yx Hello,
I tried all the above. I had another gateway and I am able to access that one with 10.6.6.6 with no problem on the same USB port.
The gateway in question is the issue. It needs a reflash to fix it, but I will need the firmware and the software that can do the update.
DFRobot should make the firmware and software available to the customer.
I like the concept of the stand alone server, but not very confident in its reliability. I might have to post a review on Amazon that reflects my experience.
Thanks,
Matt
I confirmed that it is the gateway as it is not recognized when plugged into usb port using Windows 11. I have a different device that is recognized by windows.
DFRobot I need to reflash the Gateway otherwise I have a brick. Please send a link for firmware and software to flash.
Thanks,
Matt.Barna
