Green Lidar Modules
twilightzoney 2026-07-23 03:40:34 21 Views1 Replies I'm looking for a blue-green wavelength Lidar sensor and close to the limit of 3R which I think is 5mW. This is for an underwater (UUV) type of application for obstacle detection and avoidance, as opposed to scanning/mapping. I could use a lidar scanner as well but it's just overkill. It was hard to find wavelength of the lidar modules listed in DFRobot, and I don't know if the presumably red laser modules can be modified for green. Green (520nm) wavelength light is favorable for underwater use due to transmissibility.
Any suggestions?
Hi,
Thanks for the detailed information. At the moment, we do not have a 520nm blue-green LiDAR module. The LiDAR sensors currently available from DFRobot use near-infrared light, and replacing only the laser emitter with a green one would not be practical, since the receiver, optical filter, driver circuit, and calibration are all designed for the original wavelength.
For UUV obstacle detection rather than mapping, you may also consider our underwater ultrasonic obstacle avoidance sensors:
* SEN0598: up to 3m
* SEN0599: up to 6m
