I had a similar 98% upload issue before, and changing the USB cable and avoiding a hub fixed it for me. You could also try the WebUSB upload method if Mind+ supports it.

hi,
That 98% stall is the last flash-write stage - the data's already transferred, the board is erasing/writing flash at that point. If the connection or driver hiccups there, it hangs.

A few things that help:

Swap the cable for a proper data cable (not charge-only) and plug straight into the PC, not a hubMind+ is known to hit a Windows bug here - after the Feb 2023 Windows update, transferring to the micro:bit via file-copy can fail/timeout. The official micro:bit fix for that is WebUSB direct flashing, so try the WebUSB upload path in Mind+ if it has oneCheck Device Manager for a leftover "mbed Serial" driver and uninstall it - it breaks flashing on newer Windows buildsWorst case, reflash the micro:bit's interface firmware: hold the reset button on the back, plug in USB, drag the DAPLink hex onto the drive

Official error 504 is exactly this - "the transfer of the hex file to the micro:bit has timed out", see https://support.microbit.org/support/solutions/articles/19000016969-micro-bit-error-codes
