SEN0169-V2 industrial pH probe – sensitivity to light

Hello DFRobot team,

I am considering purchasing the Gravity 7/24 Industrial Analog pH Meter Kit V2 (SEN0169-V2) for continuous aquarium monitoring.

My main concern is the influence of light on the supplied pH probe.

1.  Can aquarium LED lighting or direct sunlight cause a measurement shift even when     the water temperature and actual pH remain constant?

2. Is the probe’s reference system shielded against light?

3. Do you have test data specifying the maximum light-induced deviation in mV or pH?

4. What is the exact model number of the supplied probe, and is a complete probe     datasheet available?

I am specifically asking about a direct light-induced measurement error, rather than temperature effects or actual pH changes caused by photosynthesis.

Thank you for your help.

Best regards,

For your specific situation, the quickest way to get the answer is to purchase the SEN0169-V2 for actual testing, and then see if it meets your requirements. The measurement error caused by direct light seems to lack direct data to prove it. From my experience, if the light intensity has a particularly significant impact later on, wouldn't adding a shade ring or a shade cover around the sensor be able to alleviate or solve the problem you are facing?
