TEL0124 V2.1 SIM7600G-H shield Vin voltage range

Can the TEL0124 V2.1 SIM7600G-H shield be powered through its external VIN/GND input using a regulated 7.5 V DC, 3 A by an external power supply? I'd like to know what is the voltage range that V2.1 can accept in the Vin pin and if an external power source, such as a wall plugged power supply of 7.5 V can be used to power both the modem and the device itself.

I saw on the wiki that the specification states the working voltage is 5V. Anything above 7V would likely exceed the module's capacity. There is no specific mention regarding the current. However, there is a product datasheet on the wiki, so you can check it to see if there is any relevant information.

Hello Jason, Thank you for your response.

As I understand, the SIM7600G-H shield has a specified operating voltage of 5 V. My question however, pertains to the external DC power input on the TEL0124 V2.1 shield, not the voltage supplied directly to the SIM7600G-H modem. The DFRobot Getting Started guide recommends a 7.4 V battery, while the wiki lists an operating voltage of 5 V.

Do you know:

1.) What are the minimum and maximum allowable voltages, at the shield's external DC input?

2.) Can I use a regulated 7.5 V DC, 3 A wall adapter instead of the recommended 7.4 V battery?

3.) Is the external DC input connected to an onboard voltage regulator that supplies the modem?
